leak in roof

I have a leak in my roof where some of the flashing must have perished by the chimney. When it rains a small line of water runs down the chimney in the atic and then causes a damp patch in the corner of my bedroom.
Ive had a quote for the work which seemed alot.
Im contemplating not having the work done at all. Would or could this be a major problem in the future if i dont?

It's amazing how some people charge so much for risking their lives clambering up on other peoples roofs

Get some other quotes and see if they seem a lot too. If they all do, then perhaps that is the going rate

Leaks tend not to self-seal, rather they get worse
