travel insurance annual policy help?

hi guys i have a family policy which expires in july ..... my daughter is on cover and is going away for 2 weeks herself next month.... Although its a family policy will this cover her travelling alone she is 17...
Try to do a quote for her however will not quote unless 18...

It depends on which Insurer you're with, which company is it?
Does your daughter live with you, is she still in full time education and when does she turn 180 -
To get the answer whether or not she will be covered you need to read the policy (some insist a minor is accompanied).
If you need to buy a separate policy, then travel direct will cover her.
She ought to be insured now. If she is injured today and has to cancel she (or you if you are paying) won't be happy!0 -

daughters 18 at start of september .... still stays at home ... just finished highers and going to university

Got an annual policy for my 17 year old son last summer via the Post Office online for a good price if i remember , he is going away again next month,and is now 18,rang the Post Office to tell them of age increase and is policy still valid, was told the policy is good and that as it was taken out as a child policy there will be no extra charge due to his age.......result.0

No, you don't "need" to be 18.
They just won't allow any discount for inder 18s traveling alone.
From their faq:On an individual trip policy, we can offer cover for a child travelling alone but the full adult rate is payable0 -
You can only buy single trip cover for minors.0
