Hello, I have acquired a greenhouse or the first time :j but wasn't sure what to leave in there and what to put outside.
I have tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, strawberries, mini sweetcorn, peas, courgette and runner beans all ready to be planted up into large pots.
Also I planted some purple sprouting broccoli seed I found lying around and they are now about 5" tall .... what do I do with them now ??
I don't have a veg plot by the way, just a patio for container veg.
I also have conservatory space if necessary.
many thanks

I would leave 'tomatoes, cucumber, peppers' in green house , get the rest into large pots on patio , as for the broccoli, throw it away , can't stand broccoli0

I agree, depending on your space.I would leave 'tomatoes, cucumber, peppers' in green house , get the rest into large pots on patio , as for the broccoli, throw it away , can't stand broccoli
We always grow cucumbers in th GH but tomatoes we grow both in and out (and anywhere we can squeeze a plant in
)
Peppers again both in and out but all the other things you mention definately outdoors.
I love purple sprouting but frankly if you're growing in containers I don't think it's worth it, it takes a long growing season and peas ,beans and courgettes will crop much better.
Salads will work well on your patio ,have you seen the price of the bags of fancy leaves :eek: A packet of seed sown a pinch every couple of weeks would keep you in leaves for ages.:)0 -

With regards Tomatoes and Cucumbers, whether you should have them under glass depends upon the type, so if you don't have enough space for all the stuff that's been recommended, check on the types and see if you have tomatoes or cucumbers that can also go outside (e.g. ridge cucumbers or cherry tomatoes).0

Hi OP.. i was in the same situation as you last year.. new house had greenhouse & wanted to use it, but had little idea how.
The above selection is great & advice all good..
but will add that a big lesson I learnt & continue to learn is that it can get v.v.hot in there and plants/herbs can suffer if not watered sufficiently / too hot/not enough air.
This year I got myself a automatic window opener (homebase on their 10% off day!) which helps alot generally & especially when I don't have time to get out there to open it up & give some TLC.
Greenhouse is great fun, & good time working out what works etc. plus a lovely retreat in a sheltered space
