Is there a way to get funds off a prepaid debit card?

in Credit cards
I was given £75 "cashback" upon the purchase of a new dishwasher. This came in the form of a prepaid Visa debit card.
I like to put all my purchases on a credit card due to the additional protection, cash back and it helps to keep a record of my spending in one place.
I've therefore been trying to find a way to get the money off my prepaid card but as yet to no avail. I've tried paying off my credit card but this didn't work (not sure why). I've tried using the card in Aldi and Lidl (who don't accept credit cards) but it wasn't authorised.
Any other bright ideas out there...?

just go to an atm and withdraw it.
What type of prepaid card is it.0 -

These cashback cards usually don't allow ATM withdrawals.
What rate of cashback do you get on your credit card? It seems far easier to just use it as a debit card until it runs out, instead of worrying about trying to find loopholes so you can get an extra £1 or so out of it.0 -
That isn't an option unfortunately (according to the letter that came with the card).
It is a Citibank prepaid Visa.If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -

Most shops tell you it must be refunded to the originating card or give vouchers for a refund. One exception I found is Apple, who gave me a refund in cash.:T
Many will also just take your word for it that it's the same. (Though I've never lied, so I don't know if the Till itself will flag up whether the cards are different or not).0 -
Buy a Blue Ray disk (more expensive than DVD so you can move more money) in Tesc0 and take it to the customer service desk with the receipt and say you bought it as a gift and the person already had it. They probably won't check the last four digits on the receipt (especially if you get the refund when they are busy) and will just ask you to put your card in the machine.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670

I work in Currys and can tell you that it has to be the same card or the system won't (and can't) process the refund. It's also impossible to give a cash refund for a card payment. While it's possible that isn't true for every store's till system, I think the OP is more likely to run into this issue than not and therefore this won't work.
Sorry I don't have any better ideas, just didn't want the OP to try this and end up in difficulties.0 -

It isn't the same at Tesc0. I work there and we have a huge amount of discretion. Desk staff can give a cash refund without even having seen a receipt. Can also refund onto any card. Just be nice and smile and the person behind the desk will usually oblige. For instance I was supervising today and a woman got held up at the tills because her bank did a random check on her card. I used my discretion to give her a few pounds worth of clubcard vouchers to say thank you for her patience even though it wasn't our fault.Graduated 16 July 2013 with First Class Honours :jHouse Deposit: £6,493.10 - Cashback Total: £447.670 -
