Seller looking for some advice with a Listing please.

I have an item listed on eBay. If a Buyer wants one item it costs £10 or they can purchase two of the same item for £17. It's a listing with variations, using the drop-down box to select the quantity.
I have sold several of the item - mostly the 2-quantity option and very little of the 1-quantity option.
When I now search for my item in the general search box, the default search option 'best match' is bringing up my item but with the higher Buy It Now price displayed and not the lower one. I assume this is because the 2-quantity option is more popular with Buyers.
Unfortunately the description in my listing title makes it appear that the price is for one item only and at the flippin' higher price now! Obviously I can't change the title once items have sold from a listing.
If I change the search results to display by "lowest price & P&P' the Buy It Now price reverts to the lower one for one of the item. However, not everyone does this (or do they?).
I have now noticed my sales falling off for this item and other Sellers are getting the sales even though their (identical) items are £2-£3 higher than mine. I don't mind some competition - that's not the issue - but how do I rectify this?
Can someone advise me on the best course of action? These are my thoughts:
1. Do I end the current listing and add two separate listings for the two different quantities available? Thereby losing my ranking in the displayed results.
2. Do I remove the 2-quantity option from the current listing and therefore Buyers lose the (popular) option to pay less for 2 items? (I could state in the listing there is a discount for 2 but I would have to send them a revised invoice for the new total, etc...)
I'm getting really annoyed at watching my competitors identical items selling when I am significantly cheaper. I have excellent feedback, both in general and in particular for this item, dispatch times are fast, etc.
Would love some thoughts and help from you guys out there.
Many thanks, YoJoJo

Could you not keep the current listing and also add a second one for just the two items at that price, to start making it more obvious to buyers who are searching that you do have these at a lower item price when two are bought? Having the option to buy two at a lower price available on the single item listing isn't a bad thing, it would effectively be the same outcome whichever listing people bought through.0

You may want to check this before doing it, but I have noticed that if you end an item and relist it, the best match rating stays much the same. I've had a fast selling item that has sold out a couple of times and when relisting that's what happens, even when changing the title slightly.
Another alternative, you could add a subtitle to the original listing, clarifying the pricing..0
