Hello
It`s been a while since i`ve bought a new computer and i don`t know which brands are good and what spec to look for. I`m looking for a new laptop, budget is £500 max and needs to be from amazon as i have lots of vouchers to put towards the new purchase.
I will be primarily using it for work purposes- documents, presentations etc. I also watch films, tv on demand and listen to music. Won`t be using it for gaming much. Would like lightweight and good battery life (2.5hrs+) if possible Any recommendations would be fab, thanks!

I bought an acer laptop last year, cost about £370 and im very pleased with it, really quick for what i need (havent tried gaming on it though) and 4hrs battery life. Would recommend the companySmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

Lenovo & Samsung are better built generally, and in my experience more reliable. Samsung genrally have supply/demand issues, when they get shipped in, they tend to go quickly probably because of their good reputation. Good reports on Lenovo and have supplied some, the Z570 may be worth looking at, several sub.models that may suit yr budget on Amazon.0

I'd recommend Acer as well. You can get decent, quite lightweight laptops with good battery life for around the £500 mark. Google "Acer laptop reviews" or go to tech/gadget sites like Techradar to see reviews of models.0
