Thassos Greece

Any one been?

We booked to go in early June a few months ago. It wasn't our first choice to be honest but having to fly within a half term holiday meant we couldn't be choosy when it came to flight times. We plumped for Thassos mainly due to the convenience of the flights. We did do a bit of research and it seemed to be a very quiet place, which we don't really mind. I'm a smidge over 40 years old and she isn't quite that old yet lol.

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of the island?

I've not been but I've always wanted to.

Maybe try Tripadvisor Thassos forum for advice on places to eat, what trips to do etc.

Went a couple of years ago and stayed in Skala rahoni or something like that! It was a very quiet village. The main town is really pretty, nice beaches all over the island and I found it the cheapest Greek Island I have ever been to.

    Agree with looking on Tripadvisor.

Thanks. We checked tripadvisor before booking the holiday and liked what we read so decided to go for it. I just wondered if anyone on here had been.

It is quiet but not boringly so! Some amazing scenery. Take the bus around the island, think you can buy a round island day ticket.

Don't be tempted to take the ferry to Kavala. We did it from the town. It ends up in the place where you come over from the mainland and then its at least an hour or more on two buses to get to Kavala city! Ok if you have a wet day and do check on ferry times first!
