TC renewal, Gross pay?

Hiya,
Just a quickie, I'm filling in my renewal and as I was made redundant last year I'm having to do some maths (just adding 3 figures together, so not really that stressful admittedly!). Anywho, I've just looked at my last pay slip for the job I got made redundant for and my P45 - there are 2 different amounts, one for Gross pay TD and one for Gross pay for tax TD - the latter is the figure on my P45. I'm guessing the redundancy pay wasn't taxed? Which one do I use for TCs? There's not a lot in it to be fair, I got scammed out of the majority of my redundancy pay :O but I'm mindful that it's important that I get the right figure down,
Cheers

Gross pay for tax. The smaller figure.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thank you my lovely, that was my gut reaction but when it comes to dealing with TCs I'm always cautious
