Ignore the idiots on here! Just have a look at a few of the other threads to see the sheer levels of !!!!wittery on display on MSE - Motoring.Clearly not to your standards. But, your standards are irrelevant to me, I won't be losing sleep over it.
Thanks to all the answers that do not insinuate I am driving death traps.
It's a bunch of people intent on making others feel bad, one-upmanship and condescending advice when seom poor person comes on here wanting an answer to a very simple question!
You evidently take care of your cars absolutely fine, better I'll wager than half the people caliming to check their tyres every second revolution and only to ever use their trusted local garage who changes oil for a fiver....
This branch of MSE needs to get a grip, because some very verbose lunatics have taken over the asylum.0 -

You are missing a vital point when it comes to MOT time the test is for that day ,in fact that moment of time only so and advisory is just that a knod to keep an eye on something
As for servicing dependant on the car a independant small garage would prbably charge around £140for a service .
well thats what we do and it includes plugs fuel air oil filter new oil ,all wheels removed and brakes inspected (drum removal i fitted) most modern cars are disk braked. Adjust all brakes top ups and a full report on tyres suspension and brakes .
remember with cars you can have lots of sensible bills or some bloody big ones due to neglect ..0 -

for the mot ? no theyre not, no disassembly is allowed by the tester, back plates if fitted with inspection holes have rubber/ plastic bungs and the tester is not allowed to take them out. and advises on focus steering racks [ slight play] is very very common .Utter nonsense. The shoes are inspected through the inspection hole in the backplate. .0
