A Prepaid card isnt a credit card have you emailed or rung the hotel to see if they take prepaid cards or debit cards. Can you do a transfer the day before you go.

It counts as a credit card to them

Is that just the prepaid or debit as well, because the problem with cash is most insurance companies don't cover much cash.

About three years ago we were stopped at Manchester with just over £2,000 in cash. Were happy when we proved we were going to Turkey for three weeks and had to pay for the hotel when we got there.

I know about paying on cards etc but we struck a private deal with the hotel owner many years ago. We did bring over £1,000 back but always like to take at least double what we budget on spending. Seen to many people on holiday either run out of cash or scrimping because they haven't taken enough money

Debit is debit, prepaid is usually charged to them as a credit card.

I'm going to Montenegro....i need to take around 800 euros in cash....
What is the protocol for taking a large sum of money away?

When you enter Montenegro you need only declare sums in excess of €2,000. And that's only if you intend to take the cash back out again.

By the way, if you get the chance to stop in Dubrovnik en route it is well worth it. It's a beautiful city.
