cheap onesies for incontinence? -Alzheimer's

Hi there,
My mum cares for my step-dad who has bad Alzheimer's, she has started to use onesies (like adult baby grows) as he was erm peeing everywhere!

Not his fault, but not really a nice thing for my mum to deal with.

She has started using onesies to keep a pad in place and stop him relieving himself in public.

The ones she has bought are from topman but are around £40 a time!

Does anyone know of any specialist places where I could get her some, preferabbly with the zip/buttons at the back?

A long shot I know, but I thought I'd ask here to see if any of you guys would know, as the only website I have been given has closed down :(

Thank you x

I dont know if this will help but if you get in touch with your Dr they can provide your Dad with pants a bit like the ones you use for toilet training toddlers. They are a lot better than the pads they provide and you only have to explain that tyhe pads are no use as he takes them off.

They are a godsend and make life so much easier. xx

Thanks Joe, I've tried my local primark, but might have to try the flagship to see if they still stock them.

Chris, thanks so much for that I will tell her to speak to his Doctor. Can he still take off/or pull these ones down?

    xx

It would be difficult for him to take them off, they are just like pants but are padded. They are a good fit and the elastic stops leaks. They are a lot better than the pads, it will be easier for Mum to manage.

Is your mum using the "net pants" with the pads? If not then you need to ask for some.

I know what you are going through my Dad had bad Alzheimer's for 9 years before we lost him, and its hard work. Your mum is a star xxxx

His doctor should refer him to the incontinence clinic. They are very good, and then you just ring up and get them delivered each month (was how it worked for me before)

Unfortunately I can't use the ones supplied as they cause a reaction which leads to a severe rash so I started buying my own a good while ago - I get mine from a couple of places but now primarily use https://www.incontinencechoice.co.uk

Definitely try the Dr/clinic route though, they are brilliant and will do anything to help.

Just asked her and yes she has used the net pants over the pad, but he just will fight to even erm pull his dinkle out the side to pee. Just heard he has even tore the pads off before.
I think it will be ok, once he finally gets used to going in the pads, but he is at a very angry adgetitated stage now.

Aww hugs, sorry to hear that. Yes my mum is a star, I don't know how she does it!! xxxx

That's great :) Your mum is wonderful caring for your dad, I know how incredibly difficult Alzeimers is. Do still inquire about the incontinence clinic though :)
