A Troll is someone that 'Trolls' through posts in the hope of spotting a mistake and then highlighting this mistake for their own glory and or the mis-good of the website in question!Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

As somebody has said to me - the law that is protecting me now, is also protecting the bank from paying back money they owe me in unlawful charges made over god knows how many years. Adding up to a great deal more than the original loan of 1k I took out more than 16 years ago ago (before I was 18 I might add) which was mostly paid off before they waited some 7 years before contacting me now.
If we go back more than the 6 years then the same original lender might well owe me enough to pay back the original loan plus more interest !
Does the bank have a moral imperitive to pay ME back the money they have taken ???Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

I see evidence ( I did say evidence) every day of lenders and banks overcharging, mis-managing or basically just ripping clients off.
I think you make a good point frugal. The institutions have been bullying their way through for years and years. They think nothing of using laws to their advantage.
Good LuckI am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
In one way I agree with them not attempting to get the money back now due to time scales
but in another I don't agree with someone borrowing money and not paying it back
I can see both sides here (of course not knowing all details)0 -
I have written a letter to these people. They do not have my current address. Do I need to put an address on the letter ? They have my old address - should I put that as all post I get for there reaches me ?
Grateful for any replies

They will not be able to now register a ccj as the debt is statute barred and a court will not enter a judgement. A ccj may have already been entered though and could have dropped off your file. If a ccj has been entered the company concerned could apply to have the judgement reinstated.
Take no notice of TRoll, he/she rarely makes a worthy contribution to someone in your circumstances as they work for a debt collecting agency.
Apologies for butting into your thread frugal.
How long does it take for a ccj to drop off your credit file. My brother has one which was paid in full but still shows as owing.( He didn't follow up with the paperwork:rolleyes: )0 -
No Idea - I wonder if its 6 Years ???

Surely, if they got a CCJ awarded against you they can't charge interest on the amount. You stated that they have added the last 7 years interest on - surely this can't happen if it has gone to court as the debt would have been frozen.0
