PGCE Extended Placement

Hi all,
I am just trying to get some facts together for myself and friends. We are two - three weeks away from being reccomended for QTS on our PGCE courses, but some of us have had the words 'extended placement' thrown around.

This entails us returning in September for another 8 week placement.

Now the university have informed us this does entail extra fees, but we are wondering if there is any help.

My position personally: I completed a three year degree with a first and had 3 years of funding. I am on the PGCE now, with a years worth of funding. I am hoping to obviously pass but if I do end up with an extended placement, will there be any funding to cover the fees, and living costs?

Essentially with the enxtended placement i would graduate January not June
