Edinburgh - August - Cheap hotel!

    Forget it, sorry. :(

Try looking at somewhere outlying like Livingston or Dunfermline - both have reasonable access to the airport.

probably wrong time for edinburgh and cheap!

Try premier inn and search for Glasgow, and look for those on the M8 between the 2 cities, some good deals there.

Travelodge at the airport or cheaper further out is available for both those dates. The airport one is 80.00.

how are you travelling to and from Edinburgh? If its by car, can you not stay on the M8 side of Glasgow for example on those nights, and then drive to Edinburgh airport and home from there?

Hi, when i last visited Edinburgh i found similar problems. It is worth trying http://www.edlets.com/ or similar for an apartment as an alternative idea. When i stayed it was in an apartment the University used called Richmond Apartments which was really good value.

There's a bus that runs from Inverkeithing train station to Edinburgh airport - you might find a hotel/B&B around there.

Was it in August as prices in August in Edinburgh go through the roof because of the Festivals.

It may be worth going via https://www.ebookers.co.uk I was looking for hotels for June and couldn't find anything cheap then tried some of the big websites. Got Travelodge Waterloo Place (very central and v close to station) for £29 via Ebookers when travleodge site gave prices between £85 - £109 for the dates we wanted!
Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!
  • Thanks all I got a travelodge for £80 including breakfast. for my night before flight just need to search for one after we get back in scotland.
