Blomberg appliances

Options
Morning all,

We have managed to have the washing machine and dishwasher both break within a week of each other :(

After shopping around some local appliance centres we came accross Blomberg. I have never heard of the brand before although I have been informed they are a Turkish company who deal mainly in the German markets.

Has anyone had experience of the company (good and bad) the
models we were looking at are

Blomberg WNF7341 washing machine
Blomberg GSN 9120 Dishwasher

With thanks in advance

Jim

I thought they were German. I don't know about the 'wet' appliances but I had a Blomberg double oven for many years which gave excellent service (I only changed it because I could get top of the range self cleaning Siemens cheap through my work.)

I still have a Blomberg ceramic hob which has been excellent, never failed still on its original halogen element (11 years). Completely frameless glass so easiest to clean.

My information was this was a sub brand for one of the German major brands, they don't like to 'cheapen' their prestige brands margins by selling cheaper products that is to say with less margin to cover the lower cost end of the market so sell under sub brands like this. I think there was some connection with AEG factories.

Factory was in Austria, although now owned by Turkish company it doesn't seem to have moved production from Austria.

Bomberg has been around for a long time. I believe they were once considered a very good brand, but as many electrical companies get taken over or merged and start having their parts made more cheaply elsewhere, I'm not sure if the band is still considered a pretty decent one.

To me, the price should indicate where it stands in the market of appliances. If priced at the lower end, then probably avoid, but if mid range or higher priced then possibly still a decent name to buy.

Have you done a google search for reviews? Normally a good way to find out how previous customers have found a particular brand of appliances and what the customer service is like.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

On the UK website they seem to be offering 3 years warranty as standard which is not bad these days.
