Nationwide - anyone else had problems with applications?

Hi

I applied online for a Nationwide flexaccount (for my holidays) on the 6th March. According to the online portal it has been submitted but I have heard nothing from them and the status has not changed since then. Is this usual?

I have sent a secure message but so far have had nothing and its been a good week longer than their 'two working days' promise. I might phone them but then I kinda think that I have applied and the ball is in their court - dont want to seem desperate by phoning up and asking.

Does anyone have experience of this?
Any advice?

Thanks

I have (nearly) always found NW to be very good on the customer services front... certainly better than any other bank/BS. I would give them a ring to see what's going on.

    Thanks

I gave them a phone and apparantly they sent me stuff which has obviously gone missing. They sorted it out and are sending it again.

I did the same as you and applied on line, around the same time as you as well I think, and nothing happened. After about 10 days I went into local office and opened account in person and no further problems. I am looking forward to using my Nationwide card in Spain and not incurring any charges!!

Interesting! Exactly the same thing happened to me - they claimed to have sent the forms, but I never received them.

    Useful to know.

I've just this minute finished filling out an online application for a joint flexaccount for me and my partner which we will use primarily for our overseas trips, after reading martin's article about transactions abroad!

Yup, I applied for a Flex Acoount before Easter and the form never appeared.

Sent them a secure message on their website and the form turned up five days later.
    Show me the money!
