Timeshare AAAAAHHHH! advice needed please

Hi,

Stupidly I got bullied into buying a timeshare 4 years ago in Florida called Orange Lake. Yes, please slap me I'm so annoyed that I did.

What I would like to know is if anyone has used or knows of a reputable company to help me get rid of it without getting scammed again for thousands of dollars or legal advice on not paying the maintenance fee's.

Regards

Desperate James.

No advice as such, I don't know what you paid for your timeshare or indeed what you expect to sell it for - but I would look on ebay and have a look at what some them (your resort included) are being listed for and often with no reserve.

There is a website for timeshare owners - it's US based but you'll probably find it really useful - it has lots of info for timeshare owners and a really food forum. It's free to register.

There's help and advice on selling and lots of other things timeshare related.

They also have a market place - which you might find useful.

    Good luck.
  • Try contacting TATOC, the timeshare owners association. They will have the names of reputable companies

I hope you can get rid of this. I've read a couple of articles about people whose parents have bought timeshares "in perpetuity" - hidden in the small print. After death, the on-going costs of the timeshare gets passed on to the beneficiaries of the will - https://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2012/feb/18/macdonald-hotels-timeshare-property-ownership
