Which family runaround?

We are in process of buying a secondhand car to do the family (2 adults and 2 kids) runarounds! We are NOT badge/label conscious at all, but we would put reliability/cost-effectiveness on our priority list.

We would like to spend between 4-5K on a family runaround and would need some help from you in choosing model(s) which could meet above criteria?

We would appreciate your help.
Cheers

Ford Focus is always a good place to start. Loads to chose from good car.

Boots a bit small so I have a Skoda Octavia estate.

Mondeo is a bit cheaper than a focus. Tons and tons for sale. So plenty of choice and no need to buy teh 1st one you see.

    Wait for a perfect one.

£4000 will get you a 2008 car. Dont bother with autotrader adverts with links to yahoo email addresses they are SCAMS...

I will look at Mondeo, although slighly bigger than compact but as long as it fits the bill!

If you look at Autotrader there are plenty of Toyotas an Skodas on there within your budget.
