When we first start out on the dfw trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards, cancelling sky and the gym :money:

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer every day to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging your washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they are really important :j

Morning everyone. A hat-trick of thread starts for me.

Just a flying visit, as I have my DS's home for the weekend. Weather isn't great so perhaps they'll settle for a x-box/dvd type day at home, although they will undoubtedly want a trip to Mcd's too.

Got the washing on, but wont be able to put it out because of the weather, so it will just have to dry on the clothes horse.

Other than that, it will just be a case of the usual - checking banking, quick grocery shop at Aldi, and a cleaning day is in order I think.

Have a great day everyone

meals from stores all weekend (or at christening tomorrow)
Christening 100 miles away, so will be a long day, but we won't stay ages after as I have to get up and out early on a Monday, so won't cost us lots in (soft) drinks

  • Hi everyone.

CONGRATULATIONS barb... what a good feeling you must have had waking up this morning :j
I woke up at quarter past six this morning to the sound of my OH washing the dishes and emptying the recycling (he's got depression at the moment and has the most bizarre routine of staying up for about 30 hours at a time and then sleeping). He said he was doing it while he felt motivated to (he's in bed at the moment - trying to be awake for football tonight).
It's raining here so no hope of outdoor drying today, but here's the list of things I've done/will do.
    :Dchecked banking
    :Dweekly shop at Ald!
    :Dflylady
:Dmade banana loaf with ds to use up the very soggy bananas
:Dfind birthday present on the cheap for OH
    :Dtry and do some surveys
:Dtake the kids to see their granny and get a free feed
    :Dbig load of batch cooking
:Dget £50 out of the bank to do all of the buying to stop me overspending on the plastic.
Enjoy everyone - even if it is a bit miserable out there.

highly productive day - went out for a wander round new lottery funded park and had a piece of cake and a cuppa with my lovely mommy! Very nice day out, it didn't rain even though it threatened constantly, and didn't cost me a penny! Very MSE! :money:

Have a great evening all, will be back with tomorrow's list in the morning!

    Good Evening All

Hi to all the regulars and welcome to all the newbies.

Karb - Thanks for starting us off and have a great weekend with your DS's
Candy - Whens your anniversary and what theme are you having?
Barbed - Well Done on being DF :T:T:T:T

Today has been fairly unproductive and quite expensive, had to take LO to have his feet measured as he's complaining about pain in his foot - so that meant new shoes, after that it was a couple of new t-shirts and more pants as he's had a growth spurt. Hubby collected us from Meadowhell after he'd finished work and I've spent all afternoon asleep so am just catching up on a few jobs before going to bed, lol.

Check Banks - Done (v tight again)
Check swapits - Done & posted
Keep up to date with surveys -
Keep on top of emails -
    Quick tidy round - Done
Update food tracker (35.5lb off) - in progress
    Meals from stores - Done
    Filing & Shredding - Done

Hope you have all had a great day, love you all.

    C xx
