Refund - how long

I am supposed to be receiving a refund for goods ordered on a visa debit card from simply electronics that they failed to deliver
I ordered the items almost 2 weeks ago and the company finally agreed to a full refund yesterday
According to my on-line statement - a refund was made yesterday - this has not yet appeared in my account !!
How long should a refund take to appear ?

Shouldn't be too long now. Hopefully you'll have the credit showing in your bank account by this time next week."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Having the same issue with simply electronics, unbelievably poor service, nothing but getting mucked around from pillar to post.
Called my bank after waiting 8 days for them to start the refund to be told that unless I have an email confirming that they are refunding £x to card number WXYZ they can't do anything because I cancelled the order with them. Huge change here that I am going to be £700 out of pocket0 -
I would advise people to avoid shopping at simply electronics.
I ordered a phone that was showing as in stock, my money was taken straight away (£150) instead of when goods dispatched. 2 weeks later - no show and there followed a series of emails from me to chase this up, each time i was fobbed off - 'we are expecting stock soon', 'we are geting more staff to process orders' etc.
I phoned customer services and eventually spoke to someone (this is a trying task in itself) cancelled the order and was told refund would be within a week, I called sales at the same time and they said the phone was in stock and i could order one (quite happy to take my money it seems) but would not send one to me as i had already paid for it. i found out that i was calling Hong Kong.
I am still waiting for a refund.
As a reglar internet shopper i would rate this retailer as a scam outfit based on my experience thus far. I would say that the pictures on the web site are misleading, your friendly smiling shop person keen to help just is not so!0 -
Hi stevetibble, I can fully empathise with you, I have also been caught out by the cheap prices, and am now on a quest to warn as many people as I can about how bad this company actually is!
I placed an order for a Galaxy Nexus on 30/06/12, enticed by the 'expect delivery in 2-4 days' advertisement. After 6 days of the order being stuck at 'New' (which I found out means that they haven't even processed the order, it means they have accepted your offer of purchase, which means that they take the money out of your bank, and then do nothing for a while) and after sending a few emails asking why my order hadn't been processed even though the Live Stock Report said there were plenty in stock, I decided to cancel my order on 5/06/12. They asked me why, I explained that I needed the phone as I work offshore and was going away, and had ordered it elsewhere from a more efficient company. They said they understood my decision and my refund request had been passed to the relevant department. I left it for a few days. Then when 10 days later the money hadn't been returned I started emailing them again. I have now been sending emails daily asking for my refund, yet 24 days after cancelling my order I'm still receiving apologetic emails saying they're trying their hardest.
I guess the short version of my warning to others is this is not a company you should conduct business unless you have the patience of a God. I know from looking around other sites I'm not the only one who has been a victim of their incompetence. I'm sure they have 10's of satisfied customers all around the globe, I just wish I'd done more reading first.
I hope you manage to get your refund steve, I'm emailing them twice a day now, and have told them I will do until I get my money back!0 -
I wish I had found this site earlier I paid £231 for an X7. I have had all the excuses out of stock, stock damaged & replaced, logistics dept over loaded with work (lol). I have been waiting for my item 27 days, so I cancelled the item today, looks like a fight to get money back now.0

How long does it take to get a refund from simply electronics after KwikChex become involved in a dispute? I have asked for their assistance in securing a refund for a cancelled order this company went ahead and sent to me. I returned the goods to simply electronics as,
a) The order had been cancelled, &
b) It was a grey market import.
Simply Electronics are now giving me the run around. They''re not acknowledging they have received the goods back, despite the fact I have e mailed them a copy of tracking parcel return, which confirms it has been delivered and signed for.0 -

Mine took about 7 days - I assume that you paid by card ?
Kwikchex themselves advised me to keep an eye out for any future withdrawls by SE (I asked my bank not to make any payments to SE in future)0
