I'm selling up and just going to drift around overseas till i find somewhere i like with the intention to build my own off grid green build home, I will have no debt or commitments when i leave in 6-10 weeks time and would really appreciate any advice on what type of banking arrangements would be best to set up .
Please keep it simple i have a form of dyslexia which makes it difficult to understand from written instructions i know theirs tons of great info on this board but its fried my head trying to get to grips with it all, I can see that using a credit card looks to be the best way to spend abroad although having never had one it kind of scares the bejewels out of me and as i will have no permanent address for a while my kind sis said i can have mail sent to her.
kind regards murdy

I travel A LOT!
Bank with HSBC. They have branches all over the place and you get very reasonable rates on exchange. I think, if you use their machines overseas, you don't pay a withdrawal charge.
If you have an advance account (cost 12.95/m) there is definitely no cost and you get some limited travel insurance with it too (intended for holidays, not move aways).
In any case, I have an HSBC account in 3 countries (UK, HK and USA). Serves me well wherever I go!0 -
Have fun on your travels!
