Desktop switching itself back online.

My desktop started doing this the other day, every time I turn is off as in shut it down it powers off completely as you would expect, but then low and behold it switches back on again. I dont think it is a peripheral booting it back up again.

My windows7 PC behaved like this, When put to "sleep" it would go off and seconds later burst back into life.

I found the keyboard and/or mouse power management settings were set to allow the devices to wake the PC.

To check this, open device manager, click on the keyboard entry, right click on the HID or other keyboard listed and select properties. Under power management untick "allow this device to wake the computer".

Do the same for the mouse and the PC should stay asleep.

That's why I asked if it was being shutdown (literally) rather than hibernating or sleeping.
