all 7dayshop batteries have been great for me one camera takes four AA batteries its taken hundreds of pics and some HD Video before they needed charging there were recommended on a photography forum and have been great

Ansmann maxE are equivalent to the Eneloops. I have been using these low discharge rate batts (they accept a conventional NiMH charger) for a couple of years - excellent compared to standard old type NiMH ones, they behave better than new Alkalines, yet charge up like new.0

It doesn't cost me anything to dispose of dead batteries - I drop them off at Tesco
Also you are not supposed to just throw a broken charger in the bin. You have to dispose of it according to the WEEE regulations
