Car insurance coming down

Last June my insurance was £714 fully comp for a 2010 Bmw 320 coupe M sport,just had a long chat with Direct Line who had initially advised it had come down to £612,the problem was they did not know i had done my homework and gone on line earlier as a new customer,finally paid £465
