Staircase

Hi,
what sort of figure would I be looking at to have my current staircase replaced...
It goes from the front bedroom up into the loft. It is VERY steep and has about 7 steps. They are all very uneven and small.
They are between 2 walls as you walk up (if that makes sense?!). They stairs have always been there since the house was built 100 years ago.
I'm looking for it to be replaced purely out of safety eg when getting things out of the loft - not looking to use the loft as a bedroom if that makes any difference.
Need a very rough price for materials and labour. I know it wont be accurate but need to know under £1k? Or over £1k? Thanks!
