So the 1% figure would be much less then?
If they were seeing outflows of £1bn a day then I'd expect intervention by the end of next week. But we're not. So we won't.0 -

Santader are definitely not popular on this forum from what Ive seen though they been no worse then A&L for me. However they do split up and allocate capital against risks like this.
Its the opposite structure to how RBS was run, where they took over Natwest and then robbed it of all its independence with all power and capital seceded to the top, Mr Goodwin.
Lehmans was the same apparently, all power went to the top man, a very driven arrogant and in the end incorrect banker.
The fact they are mostly UK based is why Im wondering if Lloyds is viewed too negatively also. They are exposed to Ireland and I think thats the worst of it. Europe is not going to directly bring them down. Worry about the investment banks who did buy Greek bonds and so on.
The banks who issue normal mortgages to UK people are dealing with the risks overstated every day for the last four years, its bad but Im not sure its worse then expected yet.0 -
I further appreciate that some people are only with Santander due to acquisition of previous financial service suppliers. .[/COLOR]
and some, like me, are with them(or rather their offshoot Cahoot) because they offered me a very good fixed rate account.
I'd confidently say that most people have plenty of personal ammunition to decry most active UK financial institutions. But starting a run on them by scare-mongering doesn't help anyone.0 -
I think Sauveur is joking with you, the only thing he forgot to mention was he was replacing his collection of Santander complimentary pens as they are bound to dry up aswell.0

Sorry but having been an A&L customer, that's like saying "I know syphilis has a bad reputation, but honestly it's been no worse than gonorrhea for me."urs sinserly,
