  • Hi MarilynMonroe,
    Only happens on this site

Thanks for your comment. I am sure you are correct and this is the only site you visit which suffers because of this bug. But I do believe there are other sites affected. I can only again apologise sincerely for the inconvenience.

  • This happens to me too (in IE9), it used to be annoying but I've gotten used to it now.

How and where did my computer pick this 'bug' up?

I've realised this evening that when I am not logged into MSE using the back button defaults to where I left the main forum, as opposed to when I am logged in it goes back to the top of the page.

Can't see how this can be a fault with my browser if the back button works fine when just reading MSE and not logged in.

It happens whether I am logged in or not (I tried it)

You can't be bothered to try a better browser though!

I have read your whingeing posts and there is only one person being negative here! You have an old PC using an operating system that won't allow you to use the current version of Internet Explorer, so you stick with IE8 when there are far better alternatives that you could use that are fully compatible with this site and more secure. You state "I have changed nothing right from the very start of the trouble" - perhaps you need to! Using an alternative browser would show you that the problem is yours and not MSE's.
