silvercar, think of the elite thread as a tree, many branches to it, and not all of us, need all the branches, but we do need the tree!
That's a lovely way to think of it :TMs-Money-Penny wrote: »Can you send him down to me when he's fixed yours mine packed up last Friday:eek:

Morning
I nipped to a$da yesterday (couldn't find you any jam Tweets sorry) and got a few bits already mentioned. I also nipped to T's and got the pizza ice cream deal I think it's good value anyway for the kids.
My car door handle broke at the weekend and I can't open it from the outside, fortunately it's under warranty:j I was quite excited it broke as the garage is across from a huge a$da that I wouldn't normally go to. Tweets I'll check there for you.
Good luck to FloFlo today. Cattysmum good luck I hope its good news.
Midwinter I really thought your tree comment was a fantastic accurate way of describing the thread.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all
Such a lovely feeling to not have to get up for work today :-)
I just want to say that I didn't even know a thread existed for the asda stuff and only got the idea to go from you lot. I didn't have a set list of what to look for, I just used my eyes and looked at the sel's. I don't think it's right to label us as selfish for not knowing such an other thread existed.
Might head back up to a's in a bit to look for stuff I didn't see yesterday. A 10p superdrug run is on the menu and then going off to watch my nephew singing in a local theatre type place

I know you all like to keep things to yourselves with the Tesco glitches but don't you think it is VERY selfish to take the details from the Asda reduced to clear thread and not add your finds to it? MT has enough to do keeping the coupon thread up to date (another thread a lot of you take from but not seen many add to) without having to read through all your drivel to make sure she doesn't miss out on any new Asda finds to update the Asda thread.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0

Been catching up and just wanted to say to BLUEWKD, I think it is lovely that you wanted to defend a colleague in arms on the discounts board and I happen to think that MT does a fabulous job. Had never even seen the Asda thread, but have picked up on the rtc items from this thread. Was a regular on the coupon thread but now rarely visit because the tone and BG style doesn't suit me - nothing to do with how much effort MT does or does not put in. I think I understand where you were coming from, and I think your post was well intended, but I also think in this particular instance the comments and conclusions drawn were unfounded and misplaced.
There is very little that is selfish about this thread. Of course it creeps in occasionally with a minority, that is inevitable. but the majority here is one of the most giving and selfless bunch of peeps I have had the pleasure to come across. I believe that the thread is "hidden" in Gone because it was going to be pulled off Grabbit because of too much chat - the desire for "invisibility" isn't driven by a selfish need to keep bargains to ourselves, more a desire from the majority to protect the thread from lots of reported posts ending in it being closed. I would guess that for the majority, the selfless support and chat and community spirit is equal to if not more important than any bargain posted.
There are often several ways of looking at the same words or pieces of information0
