Sorry I'm a bit nervous and new to posting and probably going to be asking a lot of daft questions.........

What's the etiquette for clicking on the Thanks button?

 hello - just thank if you want to, some people do every post others thank to add support or if it has helped or amused them so just do what you are comfortable with
I'm getting really fed up with the contractors assigned to fix my kitchen. They've still not been, they keep turning up on dates I've told them I'll not be there and not even ringing me though they were told they must do so as I'm not in the property. I wait in on the days I am free and have arranged for them to come and they don't turn up.:mad::mad:
My mum is getting really fed up too so she rang the housing place to complain about it and also complained about a boiler service that was being done at the same time as her phoning
I had to ring them back and explain that the delay for the service was my doing but the other things was the other contractors fault for not being able to do the work on the 15 dates I've given them over the last 3 - 4 weeks.

I could understand if I only gave them a few dates but they're taking the P. They have rang me once to say they'll be with me in 20 mins but I've been stuck in a meeting and not able to get there.
The girl who answers the phone in the contractors office should work in Ts because she doesn't seem to get the 'I'm a single parent' and has repeatedly asked could my husband not wait in on them. I have told her often that he's dead, the last time she asked I asked her had she 'some magic potion to revive the dead?' to which she responded 'no why?' and I told her that unless she did she'd have no chance of anyone else being able to wait in on her workers and asked for her boss because I felt that it would be best but he wasn't in :(
I think it's best that I only know that they're down in Bangor, County Down and haven't made a point of finding out a more exact address otherwise I'd probably be incarserated somewhere  :rotfl:

Sorry to hear you have been messed about - hope you manage to get them tracked down and committed to getting the job done
I've read this story all day today from so many places and it's still hard to picture it

    *Warning* Not for the faint-hearted.

p.s. I'm gay. Thought I'll say, as I came out to my parents last weekend and they took it rather well:T:j:beer:

Good for you - we all have to be comfortable in our own skins - I would imagine not being open with your parents would have been really stressful for you

The thread died a death after that post but I was shocked at the reaction. I know we can't ask for medical advice on here but surely that post can't be true? I would have thought if you broke the skin on something metal you'd need a booster if not up to date?

I would have thought the opposite was true, if it bleeds it means the skin has broken, so infections/ germs/ yucky stuff/ bacteria could get into the body and the blood stream.

Interesting question. On another forum, someone was asking what to do as they'd trodden on a used razor blade head and although not initially bleeding. when she squeezed the contact point, blood did come out. Someone mentioned a tetanus booster (which was one of my first reactions) but this was the response from someone else:

I know if you ever cut yourself in the garden or on a rusty nail for instance, they would ask if you'd had a tetanus jab in the past 10 years.
If you got bitten by a dog you always had on too I think :)

evening everybody, just managed to catch up. I hope you have all had a good day and enjoyed the sunshine.
I Have had a lovely day day visiting my sis Auto armadillo.

I gave her some kitkats in return she gave me loads of soaks for me and balloons, fly killer, custard, and lots of other 1p items.

I felt very disappointed with my offerings.

I think I need to do lines like zippydooda along the lines of I must try harder to find 1p items.

Also my mum loaded me up with loads of books.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of the evening.
Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.
