Being a super saver & bargain hunter it's painful to watch so many people, getting ripped off at the checkout:( I've given up* telling people that product is bogof, or 3 for 2 or is cheaper to buy the bigger pack or two small packs. You could have a full time job going round looking in people's trollies telling them they have missed the best offer. Madness:(

oh well, it's not my money so I shouldn't care, but I do! angers me:o:o:o

Looked at the airwick but price checked at four quid for me, got 14 x6 ltrs milk used wys mailing 6/40 and 4/30 together, no wombled rtd as maxed them out on fanjita kits n got the points over £120 already this quarter, my new omega is getting nearer. Just imputed lot of possible rtd but got lots more reciepts from Asda, me is over flooded with wys 5/40 I shall buy some Pepsi max with one. Lots apg from Asda. Can't wait for new price floppers but so far planning main shop in Asda unless I womble some Tesco wys.....

    Xx have nice day xX

Just be a little careful hammering a single deal too hard as Tesco have been known to remove peoples points. 12,000 points is a lot these days.

I'm done 10 of the kits so far and will continue to do a few more but only doling a couple every other day or something and wary of spending too much on them so been using kleenex vouchers and JTD's to keep the cost down as I/m still not convinced at full price thats the spend to points ratio is that good.

Hmmmmm, naa, I'm not convinced sorry. It would in my opinion make some people feel unwanted, unwelcome. Even less likely to post on the thread for fear of not being welcome. We don't want to snub newbies now do we??
It wouldn't, if handled correctly. A friendly statement as to the aims of the exercise, i.e. to encourage any kind of participation no matter how small, we want to hear from you and all we ask is that you register. I can't see that putting anybody off who ever would have registered anyway.

Yes, it took me ages to post my first time and no I don't contribute much myself as my store is small. However, I have been taking advantage of other people posting on here so have made a special trip to another Ts to get the glitch,

this makes me a lurker no doubt and one that should be detered from being here
Took me years, including one old now-expired account. Not being able to post a photo put me off for a while as every time I had something to post it wouldn't let me, would get annoyed and not bother when all I needed to do was chat rubbish a bit then it would let me, sounds so stupid now lol but made sense at the time :D. I don't contribute as much as I'd like to as I'm not blessed with a local store with a scanner (I would be a DEMON if I had access to one, damn it :rotfl:).

You're far less of a lurker than myself, clearly. Despite me finding a new 1p item last year. Doesn't matter. All that matters is that you could find one. And that you would post it when you did.

I know how you feel, saw a lady going to basket checkout with four boxes of icecreams and I wanted to run over and give her a price flop but I didn't already have one cut out and she would have been through the checkout by the time I had carefully ripped one out. :(

I did share the love when the marmalade went down to 10p, loads on shelf, couple only took two jars when SEL was 20p so I told them that it had gone down further and to my surprise they still only took a couple more. I had taken 6 so seeing they were not interested in taking any more, I had some more and share with my neighbour, SIL and Aunty. :)

Hey guys, good to see your post 3Dogs! It's so hard to catch up if you miss a day, especially if everyone starts talking about jacket spuds or butter:rotfl:

Magicowen hugs to you for tomorrow. I can't imagine how hard it will be for you :( hope it all goes as well as possible, come and vent to us if you need to. My elderly neighbour at Mum and Dad's is called Mrs Owen and she used to bake gorg cakes for us and the little ones called her Owencake. Your username always reminds me of her:p

My OH has his last uni exam of his 1st yr tomo so I've been to my friend's today with the baby to give him some peace and quiet. We had a lovely tea with all different piccy bits, but it was all from M&S:eek::eek: Some of the prices on the packaging were so scary!!!!!!! She is getting married on Friday so very very excited for her Big Day:D We wanted to all get together before the wedding to have a good chat, had a lovely time.

Had a little trip to T's to use my last 2 £5off vouchers from local newspaper. Really happy with my shop esp my B&J's cookie dough mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Wombled 3x £5 vouchers for next week and earnt 2 myself, don't know when I'll fit shopping in as I've got weddings on Friday and Sunday:eek:

The stats would suggest that it would very much deter lurkers. This very thread, started 9 days ago has at time of posting racked up 131,790 views. Which would place it in the top 10 currently active Grabbit threads. And easily in the top 200 threads of all time. Don't think it's well-hidden in It's Gone, that may have been the case at first but everyone and his dog knows about it now. It's got to the stage that it probably wouldn't make a blind bit of difference if the thread was fully out in the open.

Whereas the most viewed thread ever on DT has 81,721 views, the second most viewed has 34,066.

I think it's better to discourage lurking not by excluding lurkers altogether, but by encouraging them to participate... Which is why I think a temporary move to DT would be advantageous. And be very public about it. It's far easier to pluck up the courage to join in if you've already gone through the registration process.

After having a thread there, and no doubt thousands of freshly registered MSEers, move it back where it belongs. A few more threads here, then rinse and repeat...

We could even run a competition to estimate the number of registrations during the away period

I have to agree with Altojack. I guess I am considered a lurker. I don't post often. I mainly post to confirm something I found in a store or say something didn't work. I know of one other local person on this thread who posts so I tend to mention to her if I find something locally.

I don't get involved in most of the chat purely because I don't give out a lot of information on my personal circumstances etc. I sometimes find it hard to keep up when life gets in the way but try to check in and catch up when I can. I'm sure there are many people like me and it seems a shame to hide away from them.

Although I don't post often I was the one who found and posted about the splenda that time. So one of my rare posts did help. The more posters/lurkers we have the more likely someone will find something to share surely?

It's an open forum and our posts are public. How do we decide who is 'deserving' of info on saving money? It's frustrating to find an empty shelf when we are looking for a bargain but this happens with shopping in general. I had a good sulk when the second T's I'd visited in 2 days had sold out of Carling Zest.:D It was just sold out because it was a good deal. It was frustrating but they were available to all - like anything for sale there.

This is just in friendly debate. I do think it would be a shame to not just leave the thread as it is.
