very stupid curtain fixing question

hi - moved into a new home and haven't bought new curtains.

however a friend has landed his curtains which look like they are to be used with curtain rings. they dont have big holes in them but at the top of the curtain a white cloth strip is stiched with small holes to push curtain rings through it.

however the curtain poles in my home are sliders (with a string at the end to open and close the curtain)

i hope what i have written makes sense sense!

can i use these curtains on poles or do i need to chnage poles?

If I understand you correctly, your curtains have a band across the top of them that has lots of string in wee loops across them, and 3 lengths of string hanging out the end that you can pull to tighten them. If this is the case, you can use plastic hooks to hang them onto the rail you describe.

If your current curtain rail has a number of little rings that slide back and forth, then buy a bag of curtain hooks. Count out the right number, then thread the hooks through the back of the curtain, evenly spaced.

Hook the hooks through the rings and you're done.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
