I've just logged onto my Santander account and saw that they have taken £20 in overdraft fees this month, up from £10 last month. I haven't had any notification of the increase.
Can they do this?

Thanks for the reply. Doubling the charge has !!!!!! me off but what is worse is that I haven't had any notification.....absolutely NONE!
I went into our account today when I noticed the £20 charge & went back over all my messages and nothing. So I've sent them an email complaining!0 -
Have you checked your emails?
Have you checked your secure messages?0 -

I got notice about a million leaflets, I also got some secure messages doesn't make it fair though. I was told it would double from 7.50 but it's 20.00 now. I need to set up a payment plan then I'm moving on!0

Guys.....get rid of those overdrafts, that's the only lasting solution!
Santander and Halifax might be the worst in what banks charge for overdrafts these days, but don't think the others will be far behind them.0
