Could the Euro problems affect insurance?

So, there is a lot in the news lately about the problems in Europe and the Euro generally.
Some insurers appear to be underwritten by non UK companies though are FSA registered.
What protection does a consumer have if say, they suffer a loss and needed to make a claim which coincided with a collapse of the market.
Could a situation arise where a claim, which in normal circumstances would be paid, could not?

No need to worry. Google FSCS0

FSCS would step in and cover 90% of the claim for non-third party claims and 100% for third party claims for insurances held by individuals and some small businesses.0
