I'm sulking today.

Yes indeedy. And so is OH.

It's going to be an interesting day methinks.

I'm sulking because OH said something to me which I thought was rather offensive and I reacted by telling him so and removing myself off to bed last night.

OH is sulking because 'it was a joke' and he's annoyed with me for taking it to heart.

And for those who are pedantic by nature, this isn't an overtly serious post and 'sulking' is a term used for effect, rather than an actual description of me sat in the corner with a face on. ;)

I hope you all have a better day than I suspect I'm going to have. :D

We had exactly the same discussion this week. Only I was in the role of your OH and when mine 'sulked' I told him I wasn't responsible for how he chose to react to interpret what I said. That caused a diff row instead. Is that any help? :rotfl:

Not really.:D But thanks anyway. :rotfl:

Problem with OH is he tends to make people the butt of his 'jokes' and he makes his comments with a straight face. It's not always clear if he is joking or not.

Then when people react in a negative way to his comments, he pulls the 'it's a joke' thing out the bag and he can't understand why they don't find them particularly funny.

Not to worry, my annoyance with him has been the catalyst for some house cleaning this morning.

I never usually hoover at 9 in the morning.:D

Doesn't really matter what he said.

I deliberately didn't state his comment as there will be some who reckon it was offensive and some who would no doubt find it funny.

I found it offensive and that's all that matters.

Sounds like you are married to the same man as me - he jokes around with a straight face, I have difficulty reading peoples expressions and tone of voice anyway - has caused many a row over the years along the lines of "I was only joking" "well, I didn't find it funny" "cheer up you miserable so and so" "why should I, I didn't find it funny and am entitled to my point of view" "no you should take is as funny once I've told you it was a joke" "so my interpretations are irrelevant" "that's not what I said" "yes it was"....

    That was last night...

Men... (rolls eyes smiley). Jokes are only funny if the 'receiver' finds them funny, otherwise everybody would be a comedian!

Oh, there's nothing like taking the huff to get me cleaning the house! The kitchen's spotless once I've worked off my fury!! Sometimes I think my hubby does it deliberately :D
