Just had 2 bank welcome packs though which one to go for?

Hi recently been having a problem with my current account Barclays and in madness I applied for a natwest & lloyds bank accounts and received the welcome packs and wondering which is the best out of lloyds or natwest or they more or less the same as they are both RBS.

Cheers.

Lloyds have nothing to do with RBS.

They have better interest rates compared to NatWest if you add Vantage to your current account and pay in £1,000 a month I'd go with them for that reason.

Though personally I have accounts at both these banks, Natwest is the back up account though.

You could probably call them and they might do it over the phone, I added it online using internet banking though.
  • Cheers Moneysaverlog, guess I will keep the Barclays as a back up with just DD, and might even mix my wages over natwest & TSB but don't really fancy paying for 3 bank accounts.

'paying for 3 bank accounts' ? Why would you have to pay?

Personally, I ring up Natwest and say you changed your mind and want to close the account. Keep the barclays account (its free), maybe put whatever you usually spend on your debit card in that account if you like your personalised card. Keep the TSB account for Vantage and paying the bills. No need for any DDs or SOs on the Barclays account. I've had £10 in mine for the last year. They don't seem to care. Only keep it as some of my savings accounts are linked to it and its easier than trying to change the details on them.

Cheers for the advice totally agree what you saying, oh defiantly like I say just personalised my card and they also not so long back gave me a nice OD, But did have a problem with a refund.

So if its your choice it would defiantly be tsb, I only got a £100 interest free OD with TSB but not to fussed TBH.

Further to my note above I've actually decided to move my main banking over to NatWest from Lloyds TSB.

They seem to be a bit more helpful approving me today for a Mastercard and Overdraft.

Lloyds TSB have still not done a update from Experian and have me down as declined for a credit card with them due to adverse CRA data. A update should have gone through yesterday but it appears to have not done so again for the 3rd month in a row.

Spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to sort this out yesterday with Lloyds TSB who tell me to take my report into the branch or contact Experian. Both of which I've done previously and they cannot do anything despite a score of 965 on Experian and a internal risk score of 1A.

Probably just going to use Lloyds for their Vantage saver and ISA now. If NatWest ever bring out some half decent rates I'd move my savings too.
