Angy at cancerlation of card protection

I recently did the wise thing of switching credit card.
on the internet application i applied for what i thought was payment protection on a 30 day free trial there wasn't much info so applied.
i recived the details and it wasn't what i thought it was some fancy service covering all your cards if they got stole ect. I read how to cancel and phoned up to cancel and recive a refun only to be told i had exceded the 30 days which i havent and that to get a refund i would have to complain in writting. i then phoned a number detailed about complaints of the policy only to be told by them they do not deal with such complaints i feel riped off completely so i have srrongly worded the letter but am unsure if i should not only ask for a refund of my money but also for postage costs time costs and the interst i could have had for money that should be refunded or will that seal my fate for a drawn out battle for my money.
the service was SENTINEL card protection.
any one else had this happen or any advice would be great.
P.S i'm realy mad!!!
