    Hmmmm, just came across this:

"Although vehicles displaying the badge cannot legally be wheel clamped on the road, you CAN be clamped/towed away on private property (i.e. off road parking etc.)"

    taken from http://www.bluebadgenetwork.org.uk/whatbluebadge.htm

    Any comments?

    Yep - that's rubbish!

    http://www.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/Pages/licensing-conditions.aspx

Home Office SIA rules say (until private clamping/towing is made a criminal offence from October, yay!!):

''contravening licence conditions is a criminal offence under Section 9 of the Private Security Industry Act 2001, the maximum penalty for which is six months imprisonment and/or a fine of up to £5,000.

    Vehicle Immobiliser Licences

In addition to the above, vehicle immobilisers must adhere to the following requirements when carrying out front line vehicle immobiliser activities.

A vehicle must not be clamped/blocked/towed if:
    • a valid disabled badge is displayed on the vehicle ''
So under their own 'rules', private clampers & parking firms cannot do this - even though in fact the Blue Badge scheme doesn't even apply on private land! You couldn't make it up but it's true.

And if you want to find out more about your rights I would Google 'Equality Act reasonable adjustments' or 'Equality Act duty of service providers'. Read up on what 'they' (any public-facing service, whether private or local authority) have to do for you so you know what to say when they fail!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Blue badge network who don't know the rules? That's worrying!
