Santander e-saver blocked

On the 24th April I transferred £300 into my Santander e-saver account. Unfortunately a week later I had need of the funds (but that's the point of savings right) and tried to withdraw it. I was told that my e-saver was blocked due to insufficient ID, despite me sending all required docs when I opened the account. n speaking to customer service I was advised they can't help and I would need to take some ID into my branch so they can send it to the relevant team.

I went into the branch the same day and handed them my ID which the faxed off and gave me a copy of the proof of sending. They advised this could take 3 working days. 3 days later I tried to transfer the money once more and was unable to due to the block on my account. I called CS on 30th April and I was advised that it would be unblocked by the close of business On Tuesday 1st May.

Surprise surprise it still wasn't unblocked and I was advised once more to sit tight and wait. Fast forward to 9th May when I got fed up of being told it will be clear tomorrow, I asked to speak directly to their complaints department. Once again the told me there was a block on my account and then they said my ID had never reached the relevant branch and I would now have to post ID through to them. I said it wasn't acceptable and the guy on the phone managed to come up with a solution.

He said he would fund my bank account with £300 and then when the block was lifted (which he would organise) Santander would just take back that £300. He also offered me £150 compensation, he said we would discuss this on Weds 16th May when he would call me up to resolve my complaint. Guess what he never called so I phoned up today to be advised that my complaint had been closed, I still have a blocked savings account, I have received no compensation so I asked to speak to the chap I originally spoke to.
Well he was on the phone so I was promised a call back in 2 hrs......yup no call back was received and when I phoned back he had left for the day.

I truly can't believe the levels of service offered by Santander, I just wish I knew how I could combat their behaviour.....

Rant over.
