Just had safe style knock on my door and wouldn't take no for an answer and when I told him it was a no calling zone he just said "but I'm not selling anything" Grrrr, it takes me ages to get to the front door because of my knees.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

It took door to door sellers about 18 months to realise that my front door is tucked around the back of the block of flats I live in. There are 7 front doors to the 10 flats - 4 have a front door directly to their flat and the other 6 share the front door with their neighbour. I frequently get jehovah witnesses wanting me to get their Watchtower magazine.
I say I am a blood donor (I'm not) and they quickly leave!0

I looked into who is supposed to be included/excluded by the ''No Cold Calling '' signs and the info on the Trading Standards website say that (Quote )
 Will they stop all callers?
No - those on legitimate business, such as regular callers, utilities, charity collectors, religious canvassers, political canvassers etc, should not be deterred. The Zones are also not designed to prevent leaflet or catalogue distributions
So unless the no cold calling sign specifically mentions any of the above we'll be called on.0

The thing that really concerns me is the empty house syndrome.
They make a list of no answer addresses, come back at night,
and clean you out while you are on holiday.0

Jehovahs Witnesses can be overcome by telling them that your partner used to be a JW but was kicked out for apostasy.
When I was involved in politics we were told to ignore such signs as it was our "democratic right" to get our message heard0

I had a no hackers/callers sticker in my front door window which had been supplied by my local neighboorhood watch. When it fell off I did not bother replacing it with another one as it had had no discernable impact whatsoever on callers, charitable or otherwise.0

I tried ignoring the person knocking on my door but she came to the back door collecting for christian aid and was surprised when I said not interested go away and asked me more than once if I was sure! Wisdom doesn't necessarily come with age.
Sometimes age just shows up all by itself
In the end, it's not the years in your life

The Christian Aid woman that knocked on my door yesterday asking for the envelope looked quite offended when I told her it had been put in the bin "with all the other crap I get shoved through my door"Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! 0 0
