Have shoes to sell on eBay but...

My wife has had a pair of unworn Springers casual shoes in her wardrobe for about a year. Still in the box and even have the price sticker still on. However, we got them out to photograph and the soles had gone really sticky and had stained the bottom of the box. Anyone know what causes this or if there is any remedial treatment?

You could be on to something there... Perhaps I could say, "very good grip."0 -

The White spirit idea might work ... Or I could read through something I downloaded about the thousands of uses for WD40 amd see if there's anything in there.0

Well I searched as suggested by hermum and was horrified to say the least.... one person said that theynhad found their child with a chunk of sole in its mouth after it had disintegrated - the sole not the the child.
Just got me thinking though ... If you sell something on ebay that causes a problem such as a child choking on small parts would you be liable for any sort of damages?0
