Jasmine? If it's not Knotweed that's good news. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Yes from the sounds of it I will be very glad if its not knotweed!
I only know jasmine as climbers which this is not, it grew to be around 2m tall in the first year, 2m wide and out around 0.5m.
I can't remember the white flowers very well I shall send some of these photos to my mum to see if she remember what they looked like0 -
Compare yours to this.

The red shoots coming through are always a giveaway for me.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Your right, these stay green except where they are more like stumps/branches. Sounds like this isn't knotweed after all which is a relief!0

Yay! That is not Knotweed - I am so happy for you
I can't identify it but wonder if it is actually a sucker off a tree - I have similar growing from where a neighbour had a tree years ago - tree is long gone but I still get the suckers and they look very much like thisYou never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Looks like some sort of tree sucker or periwinkle. Both ore a so & so to get rid of but the periwinkle flowers are pretty.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0
