I'm looking to fit to all floors in my one bedroom buy to let except the bedroom which has a nice carpet.
I've decided to go for a water resistant one with an AC3 rating through out to accomodate for liquid spills which are not immediately cleaned up.
Aqualoc at B & Q looks good value but I've also heard of others from online wharehouses e.g Quickstep and Pergamo etc.
What would be the best way to go keeping in mind cost and quality?
Thanks :-)

hi, none of the flooring products you mention are water proof....they are fine if the spill is cleaned up right away..
have a look on line for BHK laminate and hardwood flooring specialists, they make a range that is the same as quick step(same factory) most of the traders use this place but its also open to the public.
they have stores all over the uk.
also look at a product called click seal, its also a help when fitting to keep the spills out but again not water proof(but helps).
regards,

We've got quickstep in our lounge and kitchen, and aqualock (B&Q) in the bathroom. Haven't had any problems with either make.0

I agree with louise and also have the same in my bathrooms at home. Point to note thou. your buy to let will be unfortunatly abused. Buy the cheap stuff from wickes for lounge and normally dry areas. and a water resistant one for the bathroom & kitchen. when your tenents move out if its damaged bill them and get a new floor for the next tenent.0

What ever you do, don'y buy Bamboo flooring! We spent a small fortune on Bamboo flooring for our living room and are really dissapointed with it. It scrates ever so easily, our's has only been down 3 months and covered in scratches and dents all over the place. We bought it from 'Floors to Go' and at the time were told it is really hardwearing stuff

think very carefully before fitting laminate in wet areas. of any quality.
(and esp if for a to let house).
for kitchen and bathrooms id rather use tiles anyday.Get some gorm.0 -
no laminate flooring is waterproof.its classed as moisture resistant.if you want to fit this type of flooring make sure it is green core mdf.the ac3 is only for the hardness i.e.ac4 is more hardwearing than ac3.i actually make the stuff 24/7 so make sure you buy loads to keep me in a job0

yes mate.problem is the harder wearing the product is the dearer it will be.its all down to how much alaminium oxide is impregnated into the board.0

We had BHK Flooring installed in our hallway 18months ago, were told it was the highest quality and backed by a 25 year warranty. The warranty is not worth the paper its written on. We have fouind that the 'lacquer' is peeling off and although we were visited by the area rep for BHK, he has accused us of spilling something on it that is not a household chemical (without testing) and will not look into replacing the floor as, he says, we have used something on the floor that we should not have done! (the warranty states that they will relpace the floor if there are problems). The flooring also fades and is covered in scratches. Go elsewhere for flooring - B & Q /Homebase or Floors2go!
Stay away from BHK!!0
