Looks to me like an Acer - a Japanese maple (with not-very-deeply-cut leaves).

But I confess I don't have a very good record at identifying plants!

    Is it a Fatshedera?

Thank you for the replies. I think it is an Acer as there are only 5 lobes on the leaves and the leaves are more delicate than Fatsia Japonica. Not bad for a couple of quid punt.:j

Sorry but it looks to me too heavy and glaucous a leaf to be an acer whose main characteristic is the daintiness of its leaves.

I'm with valentina that it's fatshedera.

Does it lose it's leaves in the winter?

When I bought it, the shrub did not have any leaves at all. it is not Fatshedera or Fatsia Japonica as I have these in my garden.

This is my thought, too. Acer leaves are quite thin and delicate.

I think it looks like a castor oil plant too.
