Co-op accounts at Britannia branches

The co-op say on their website "A range of current account services are available at our Britannia branches."

Does anyone know what this involves? Does it include basic enquiries, cash/cheque pay-in and cash withdrawal?

I know for a fact (based on experience, although could be that the advisors were lying as per usual) that you can't:

    Open an co-op account, or
    Close a co-op account, or
Reset your co-op memorable details, or
    Setup your co-op internet banking

At a britannia branch as I've tried.

You can open accounts (not basic), upgrade, pay money in and take money out up to £250 per day + all the usual credit cards, loans etc
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

Should be able to do all those things in theory as every Britannia branch has a terminal to access to the co-op systems for that type of thing. Training 'issues' still to be fully ironed out.

How long is it since you were told that. May have changed since then.

"Open", "Reset" and "Setup OLB" was last November.

I tried to close an account last week, but was told that red branded co-op banks couldn't do it - had to be done by blue branded co-op banks (and vice versa, an account opened at a red-branded co-op bank couldn't be closed at a blue-branded co-op bank).

Certainly different to be told such - "Sorry, we are the wrong colour, you need the other colour!". Way to confuse people, co-op.

You can close the account via Armchair Banking (call centre) assuming you have your security details to hand.

    Or snailmail.

Unfortunately the integration plans for red/blue have been somewhat blown off course by the plans to buy 632 lloyds branches. We await news of this with bated breath. (I work on said integration programme)

    .

This would refer to Britannia savings accounts which the blue branches do not have on line access to at the moment.

If you opened a Co-op current account in a red (i.e Britannia) branch you can most certainly do anything you need to do, including close it, in a blue branch.

Then, as you said earlier, the staff in question require further training. Or maybe they just can't(couldn't) be bothered ?

Are the new branches going to be co-op's? or a "Lloyds TSB, part of the co-operative bank" ?

Then even more confusion, "Sorry, this is a green bank, you need a blue or red bank." :D
