What to do with carpet?!

Hi guys,

Wasn't sure where to post this but just wondered if anyone had any clever ideas!

We've just recarpeted upstairs, but due to the weird shape of the rooms there is a fair bit of carpet left over.

Obviously I'm a bit annoyed I had to pay for it, but there's not alot we could do - I checked the numebrs to make sure they were offering us the best way to do it and had two rooms the same colour to try to minimise wastage. But now I'm left with all these offcuts and it seems such a shame to just put them in the tip, but we don't need any rugs or anything.

Does anyone know of anything else I could do? :)

cut them into rectangles and get the edges bound as mats. we did this to good under the piano stool and by the front door to put dirty shoes on. it cost a few pound but it saved wasting the carpet

You could offer them on freegle to someone who might need some offcuts of carpet.

That's a good one - do people actually want them for stuff then??

Yep people on freegle use them for all sorts of things either as spare carpet or as a rug or even to lay over weeds in the garden to kill them.

I have gotten rid of all sorts of things via freegle - the last being some prawn cocktail flavour crisps out of multibags because I dislike them immensely.

Don't forget to keep some back for repair patches in case of burns or spills.

Loft is where our spare bits go. That and back of hubbies care as he puts his tools in there and it protects the boot.
Saying that Im always surprised what people will pay on ebay for what I think is rubbish!
