Why do some private sellers not check their items before listing them?
The last three items I've received have had a flaw or are damaged. Contact the seller "Oh I'll have it back if you pay twice what the items worth in postage back"
I'm a private seller, but if there's a fault I would (I've never had to yet) offer a full refund plus postage.
Then you give them a neutral (which is sometimes nice compared to how they've been) and they follow up with something along the lines of buyers fault for being picky.
Grrrrr. Rant over.
Grrrrrrr

I have to say that as a buyer I have had the same thing - I bought some flat canvas shoes that stank of cigarette smoke , a vintage dress that had a tear in the seam, and a black dress that was more grey - certainly not excellent condition.
I always list all faults as a private seller. Sometimes they can add to the appeal or charm of a household item, but not so much with clothing! I always clean an item before I post it. I always make sure it has plenty of suitable packaging. That I send it within a couple of days, and mark it as despatched. But some people just don't give a damn so long as they get their money.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Yeah its mad.
I had a top which the zip was coming away. I know it's not hard to sew back on but thats not the point
& I've had two dresses which had boning in the chest area both arrived from two different sellers and they've bent the boning completely by folding it in half. Whether it was like that before Royal Mail had it I don't know. But anyone who handles clothes surely knows if it has boning it cant be folded? The first top the woman had charged £1.40 over the price on the postage and packaging so I asked her to return that as a partial refund and be done with it. The second ignored my message completely. The third I only sent an hour ago so no idea what they'll be like.
It's very frustrating though, makes people question other private sellers really.Slimming World: 1stone 11lbs lost in 11 weeks0
