Virgin Super Hub

We have a Virgin Super Hub and are having issues with the wi-fi. Its worked OK since January but now the laptop, phones and kindle all have the error ‘not in range’. We can see the neighbours wi-fi but they don’t seem to recognise ours.
The hub looks fine (ie all lights on) – haven’t change anything. Went into the URL with the Admin login and all settings seem OK (although I’m not really sure what I’m looking for).
Tried rebooting – nothing. We have lost connection to the wi-fi before but a reboot has always solved the problem. The PC which is next to the hub is fine but I am assuming that’s a ‘direct link’ and not via wi-fi.
Its now been down since Tuesday night. I phoned Virgin last night but gave up after 55 minutes – with the same 3 songs playing on hold!
I will call Virgin again tonight but does anyone have any ideas please? I’m not particularly technical but am willing to try other settings etc, but the fact that it has worked for 5 months previously makes me suspect that it is actually the hub that is at fault.
Thanks

Go to your Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings/
On that page, there is a setting for wireless speed. If it is showing "up to 300mps" which is the default, click on this and change it to 54mps.
That should cure it.
Had this was week after a reset.0 -

Be interesting to see if any of the solutions work as ive got what looks like a similar issue too in that i get an error message saying the router is out of range despite it being in the next room. Have my own idea why im getting the error as well which are the laptop only goes as high as 'g' whereas the router is set to 'n' but ill also try the suggestions too.0

This fixed it - thank you so much!
Don't understand why it worked for 5 months on the old setting but never mind.0 -
The problem with the superhub is that it tries to select free channels automatically and it's hopeless at it. You'll probably find it will work much better by setting the channels manually. One of your neighbours has probably set up a network that is causing a conflict.
If your devices can handle it you could always run your wireless on 5ghz - this will be a much less crowded frequency range - I'm running mine on 5ghz at the full 300 mbps with no problems.0 -
We have this Hub & its anything but super.........0

I have had 3 super hubs and all have done theirs jobs but a couple of times a month ( at least ) they reset to default I'D and password ( look on the back ).
I have given up replacing them but have made all wireless devices remember both ID's .
