  • i have a bank account with lloyds tsb since 2009 but i got 3k overdraft last year 0ct and i got a letter that my account will be closed within 60days,which means i must repay d overdraft. i used my account very well because after my wages and direct debit,i got money from my parent from nigeria every month in which i put into my account,at times i got income of 16k if i need to buy some things to nigeria through the money my parent sends, but my monthly balance could be just only £100 at d end of d month,i dont know why my acct should b closed and expect me to refund d overdraft 3k within 2month,and d bank told me if i dont pay it at that time,it will be passed to debt recovery, and i told them to let us make arrangement of £500 ever month but they said they will pass it to debt recovery if i dont pay within 60days,im working and i can be paying it monthly but is it going to affect my credit rating, plsss help me out and advice me plssss

Is it ok for a newbie to join in?

I don't know what a lot of the acronyms are but today, after procrastinating and mooching around feeling sorry for myself I've:

Listed coffee machine on ebay (they seem to go for about £10-15 - every little helps!)
    Signed up to Topcashback
Decluttered back bedroom and found a pile of sellable bits and bobs

I'm off work today, so lunch consisted of leftover pizza!

    Hi Phedre and welcome

Feel free to ask about any acronyms, but some of the more common ones you'll see on here are

    NSD - No spend day
    MSE - MoneySavingExpert
SOA - Statement of Affairs (your incomings and outgoings - there's a sticky about it at the top of the page)
    OH - Other half
    DS - Dear Son
    DD - Dear Daughter

Somebody is bound to add a few more that I've forgotten.
Debt free since December 2015. It can be done
