ok i,m in a bit of a rut, i had my ppi payments and very happy, but i just had a letter from my old bank saying i was overpayed by 6000:eek: and that they told me back in December by letter, i did not receive a letter, now they opened my old current account and say i owe the money and they want monthly payments off me, i looked at my statements and i can see that they have made 2 payments but with 2 different amounts, i only have 4000 left, would it be possible that the bank would except this if i went for a Final Settlement, i am not trying to get out of this, but i do think it was a mistake on both party's, thanks for looking:(
i would also say that most ppl would no £6000 was added to there bank account, but i had a lot going on in December with money coming in from father inlaws death, and the ppi and a critical illness payout for my wife..

They probably won't accept less than you owe, but they should certainly give you time to repay it in instalments as the fault is primarily theirs. If the £4000 is in an account with the bank that you owe the money to I would suggest moving it to another bank asap, as they may have the right to simply take it.0
