Help needed for elderly Gent

Hi, I am seeking help and advice on behalf of our elderly neighbour. He is in his 80s, living with his wife. up until recently he has been in fairly good health and been independent. Recently he has been bed ridden for a few months and now finds it difficult to get about. Having been a proud and independent person, now he finds it quite hard to walk about, struggling to get up the stairs and out and about. We have have helped him now so he has a bed downstairs and there is rails on the walls in the bathroom. However one thing he is most struggling with is getting in and out of the bath. The bath they have is an ordinary type with no modifications.
What options does he have to get bathroom, or bath modified. He doesn't have much in way of savings or disposable cash. Is there someone or organisation that can help with any mods.
TIA

Your local social services department should be able to help here, by coming and assessing his needs and what can be provided by Occupational Therapists. Also if not already in receipt of Attendance then it would probably be a good idea to apply.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
